Glass Perfume Bottles
Our perfume bottles are predominantly based on Roman designs which feature Serpentware also known as Snake threadware, a coil of molten glass is trailed around the neck of the bottle creating a snake like effect. The Romans also used this as a grip, as the washing facilities were sparse and the oils they used to deaden the smells of everyday life often left residue on their hands. This is why the perfume bottle was very fundamental to Roman life.We have other styles of perfume bottles, one of our fun ones is based on 18th century ships' decanters, which was bulbous on the bottom to prevent it from spilling in rough waters. We also do commissions and work with you on style and colour.
