Having lived in Bath since 1996 and being invaded by friends on a regular basis I have decided to put together a guide to the ideal weekend in Bath. I run a bed and breakfast and have several friends who do too, so I will not just recommend my own. Although I thinks it is cosy reasonable and we try and make people as welcome as possible as do all my friends with bed and breakfasts.
Things to do in Bath
Bath is a beautiful Georgian city and there are many things to do I will list the obvious and give you a couple of whole day menu guides. I just love walking around Bath looking at the buildings and walking along the river past the weir onto Pultney Bridge. There are the usual things to do
The Roman Baths I just love it, to see all that history the words "what did the Romans do for us", always ring in my ears when I go into the Roman Baths, also imagine Bath in Roman times I have been told by an historian if you were time traveled back the thing you would notice most would be so many different smells, he said there would be an undercurrent of a sewage smell then burning oils of many descriptions to hide the horrible smell. In the Roman Baths you have some examples of roman glass oil shakers which you would shake perfume nto yourself to smell lovely. The gift shop in the Roman Baths is wonderful. We here at Bath Aqua Glass stock the gift shop with our products because we blow our glass just the same way the Romans did,we use copper oxide which reflects the waters of Bath.
